Kentucky bill to restore religious liberty protections was filed but never left committee

The lead issue

Kentucky enacted one food freedom win in 2026, letting home-based processors make tallow-based cosmetics. Bills to strengthen religious liberty protections, make water fluoridation optional, ban geoengineering, allow backyard chickens, recognize gold and silver as legal tender, and protect patients' choice of blood donor all died when the session ended.
