At USCODR.org, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in our communications. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you opt-in to receive SMS (Short Message Service) or MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) communications through our 10-Digit Long Code (10DLC) messaging program. This policy is designed to comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CTIA Messaging Principles, and 10DLC regulations enforced by The Campaign Registry (TCR).
By providing your phone number and opting in to receive text messages from USCODR.org, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with our practices, you may choose not to opt-in or may opt-out at any time.

1. Information We Collect
When you opt-in to receive text messages from USCODR.org, we may collect the following information:
  • Phone Number: The mobile phone number you provide to receive SMS/MMS messages.
  • Opt-In Data: Information related to your consent to receive text messages, including the date, time, and method of opt-in (e.g., web form, text keyword, or other means).
  • Message Content: Any information you provide in responses to our text messages, such as replies to surveys, event RSVPs, or other communications.

  • Mobile information will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Any other mentions in this policy exclude text messaging originiator opt-indata consent; this information will not be shared with third parties
We collect this information only when you explicitly opt-in to receive text messages from USCODR.org.
If you wish to be removed from receiving future communications, you can opt out by texting STOP.

  • Web Forms: When you submit your phone number through a contact form, donation page, event registration, or other form on USCODR.org that includes an opt-in disclosure for SMS messaging.
  • Text-to-Join: When you text a keyword (e.g., “JOIN” or “USCODR”) to our 10DLC number to subscribe to our messaging program.
  • Other Opt-In Methods: When you provide your phone number and consent during in-person events, phone calls, or other interactions with USCODR.org.
All opt-in processes include clear disclosures about the types of messages you will receive, message frequency, and instructions for opting out.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely for the following purposes:
  • Communication: To send you text messages related to USCODR.org’s mission, including advocacy updates, event invitations, volunteer opportunities, donation requests, and other nonprofit-related communications.
  • Campaign Management: To manage and track your participation in our SMS messaging program, including confirming opt-in consent and processing opt-out requests.
  • Compliance: To ensure compliance with TCPA, CTIA guidelines, and 10DLC regulations, including documenting your consent and maintaining records of our messaging campaigns.
We do not use your information for purposes unrelated to our nonprofit mission or share it with third parties for marketing purposes, except as described in Section 5.

4. Consent and Opt-In Requirements
To receive text messages from USCODR.org, you must provide prior express written consent in accordance with the TCPA and 10DLC regulations. By opting in, you agree to receive SMS/MMS messages from USCODR.org, which may include:
  • Advocacy alerts and updates about our mission.
  • Invitations to events or volunteer opportunities.
  • Donation requests or fundraising campaigns.
  • Transactional messages, such as confirmations or reminders.

No Third-Party Marketing: Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, except for text messaging originator opt-in data and consent, which may be shared with our service providers to ensure compliance with 10DLC regulations.

6. Opt-Out Instructions
You may opt-out of receiving text messages from USCODR.org at any time by:
  • Replying “STOP” to any message you receive from us.

Upon receiving an opt-out request, we will promptly remove your phone number from our messaging program and cease sending you SMS/MMS messages. You may also request help by replying “HELP” to any message or contacting us directly.

We retain your phone number and opt-in data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. If you opt-out of our messaging program, we will retain minimal records to ensure we do not contact you again, unless you opt-in again in the future.

  • CTIA Messaging Principles: We adhere to industry best practices for consumer protection and transparency.
  • The Campaign Registry Requirements: Our brand and campaigns are registered, and we maintain compliant opt-in/opt-out processes and privacy practices.
We do not send messages containing prohibited content, such as SHAFT (sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco/cannabis) or other content that violates TCR guidelines.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on our website at USCODR.org, with the “Last Updated” date revised. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via text message or other means, as required by law.
