Home birth & midwifery

Authorizes midwives to administer certain newborn screening tests. Families who choose home birth should be able to get standard newborn care from their midwife.

Relates to the practice of midwifery and apprentice midwives, renames the Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives as the Board of Licensed Midwives, extends its termination date, and relates to insurance. Families need continued access to direct-entry midwives and home birth, so CODR is watching how this bill changes the board.
