Oklahoma signed raw milk, local food freedom and right-to-try laws while medical freedom bills stalled
Oklahoma enacted three wins in 2026: authorized raw milk product sales, an expanded Local Food Freedom Act, and a Right to Try law for individualized treatments. Medical freedom, vaccine informed consent, parents' rights, and gold and silver legal tender bills were filed but did not pass. Several bills to ban cultivated meat also stalled.
No upcoming Oklahoma events listed yet. We add rallies, public hearings, board meetings and other ways to show up as we find them. Know of one? Tell us.
Allow raw milk product sales
Amends the Oklahoma Milk and Milk Products Act to authorize certain sales of raw milk products. Signed by the Governor in May 2026.
Families should be free to buy raw milk directly from the farmers they trust.
Expand the Local Food Freedom Act
Renames the Homemade Food Freedom Act to the Local Food Freedom Act and modifies its definitions. Signed by the Governor in May 2026.
Home cooks and small producers should be able to sell to their neighbors without needless barriers.
Right to try individualized treatments
Creates the Right to Try for Individualized Treatments Act, authorizing individualized investigational treatments for eligible patients. Signed by the Governor in May 2026.
Patients and their doctors, not regulators, should decide whether to pursue promising treatments.
Ban cultivated meat sales
Prohibits the sale, distribution, or production of cultivated meat products in Oklahoma.
CODR backs clear labeling of lab-grown meat but weighs outright bans carefully against consumer food choice.
Strengthen the Parents’ Bill of Rights
Provides additional rights under the Parents' Bill of Rights, a process to submit complaints, and a cause of action.
Parents, not the state, should direct the upbringing and education of their children.
Oklahoma Medical Freedom Act
Creates the Oklahoma Medical Freedom Act, prohibiting certain acts by businesses, ticket issuers, and schools related to medical interventions.
No one should lose access to work, school, or public life for declining a medical intervention.
Make gold and silver legal tender
Recognizes gold and silver as legal tender, establishes a gold depository, and exempts the sale or exchange of specie from taxable income.
Families should have sound-money options outside government-managed currency.
Vaccine transparency and informed consent
Creates the Vaccine Transparency and Informed Consent Act, requiring certain informed consent and providing penalties and remedies.
Every family deserves full information and genuine consent before any vaccine is given.
